The HTC Magic will absolutely positively definitely be coming to the UK on May 1st. Probably. We were as convinced as anyone that the HTC Magic would be coming out this month, but new reports push the release date back until May Day.

The HTC Magic was announced by UK-exclusive rights holder Vodafone as being due in April. The first proper confirmation of this has just arrived as the new Android phone has received its first official page on the Vodafone site. The HTC Magic is the phone formerly known as the G2 – the followup to the T-Mobile exclusive G1 Android phone. HTC has the new handset ready for launch, but in Europe, T-Mobile have lost out to Vodafone for the rights to distribute it.
There is still no confirmed sighting of that Bigfoot of the mobile world, the T-Mobile ‘G2‘. Nevertheless, we remain convinced that it must exist in some form – a theory that has been lent some credibility by T-Mobile’s USA’s marketing VP, Neville Ray.

Alibaba.com – the online retailer that appeared to be flogging the cancelled Kogan Agora Pro last week – has what appears to be several different designs for the new Android G2 phone from HTC. Has the design been leaked, or is this just a bunch of chanders trying to cash in on the G2′s name?
