As expected, the new Google Chromebook – the Samsung Series 5 – is going to hit a damn tempting price point.
The Wi-Fi only version will cost just £349 form PC World, while the Wi-Fi & 3G model will cost just £399.
Both models will be available from 24th June, from both PC World and Amazon.co.uk.

We’re quite fond of the extra services on Samsung’s Smart TVs, letting you stream BBC iPlayer, Lovefilm et whatnot to your screen without having to plug a laptop in and cramping your cable-free style. Demand 5, the on-demand service for terrestrial channel Five is hitting the Samsung App store today, letting you catch up on hit shows such as The Mentalist, Hotel Inspector and Extreme Fishing With Robson Green.

A big shake up in the sharing of metadata is hitting UK TV streaming services: BBC iPlayer is now hosting search results from non-BBC TV channels. It means that if you search for Coronation Street on iPlayer, it will show up in the results, and drop you on the ITVplayer page to watch the episode.
SeeSaw, the on demand online catch-up TV service that streams content through your browser, is going premium from tomorrow. It’ll be available for 99p until the end of the year, and after that, will be £2.99 per month. This goes along with the news that SeeSaw will be introducing Ad Selector, which allows you to pick what type of adverts you’re shown when watching content through SeeSaw. With a premium account you’ll be able to turn off the commercial messages and ads altogether, meaning this is the only online service where you can watch ad-less 4oD and Demand Five.

Demand Five is headed to Virgin Media, for all your Branson set top box owners out there. Soon, you’ll be able to order up shows from Five, Fiver and Five USA on demand, which should keep fans of everything from The Mentalist to CSI: Scunthorpe content. There’s no timeline just yet, but Virgin Media has confirmed that HD content is included, and Demand Five shows will be available through virginmedia.com and even on mobile as well.
