This month has probably been one of the best for gaming in, well, ever, what with Call Of Duty: World At War, Fallout 3 and Gears Of War 2 all wearing out reviewers’ 5-star stamps. But if you haven’t got the cash to splash, or post-apocalyptic shooters aren’t your thing, there’s plenty of extra mileage to be gained from the games already on your shelves. Bonus and downloadable content is the way forward, and these are the games you need to hold on to a little longer before popping them up on eBay.

Five lots of bonus game content worth waiting for!
Fallout 3 DLC confirmed along with level editor toolset
Bethesda has confirmed that its post-apocalyptic blockbuster, Fallout 3, will be getting three sets of downloadable content (DLC), starting from January. As well as expanding the single player experience, the developer is opening up the game to modders with the release of the Garden of Eden Creation Kit (G.E.C.K.), a fully fledged community toolset for budding level designers.

More fallout on Fallout 3, now censored in Japan
It’s not going on sale in India, had advertising pulled from the Washington DC metro system and Internet, run into controversy over the decision to not allow you to kill kids in the game. And now, Bethesda’s post-apocalypse role-playing action game Fallout 3 has been censored before release in Japan.
Sony UK boss: GTA IV, Fallout 3, Tomb Raider DLC heading to PS3
There’s still no sign of it appearing on the Xbox 360 (it was due before Christmas, remember Rockstar?). But Grand Theft Auto IV’s downloadable content (DLC) will be coming to the PS3 eventually. As will other supposedly “exclusive” content DLC for the 360, like that for Fallout 3 and Tomb Raider: Underworld. According to Ray Maguire, Sony Computer Entertainment UK’s Managing Director.
More controversy strikes Fallout 3, trailers and posters pulled
We feel a bit sorry for Bethesda, the company behind the new Fallout 3 game. It just can’t seem to put a foot right. First it was the game’s two-headed cows that upset India, then it was the lack of infanticide that upset our own Simon Munk (we’re kidding!); now miserable commuters have caused a series of high profile adverts to be pulled.
Fallout 3 early play and pics
It’s the most controversial post-apocalyptic RPG cum shooter sequel this side of… well, Fallout 2, so when we heard it was getting an early outing today we made a beeline for Fallout 3, and we’ve got hands on with it before its release on October 31.
