Want the best budget Android tablet this Christmas? If you know an iPad costs just too gosh darn much, have a gander at these Google flavoured stocking filler slates instead, and weigh up your options.
Android tablet with your satsumas, sir? Asda is the next unexpected stockist for a budget Android tablet: it’s now offering one of the new Elonex Android tablet range for sale for under £100, alongside the milk and margarine.
Look, we realise that by nature of only having a screen and not much else, it’s difficult for Android tablets not to look like the iPad, but the Elonex eTouch 1000ET really is a bit too familiar. Is anybody’s intellectual property infringement sense tingling? Just look at that home button with a square on it! Should you be interested, the Elonex eTouch 1000ET packs a 1GHz processor, 10.1-inch 1024×600 resistive touchscreen, 2GB of internal memory and Android 2.1. And there’s a USB port, micro SD card slot and 3.5mm headphone socket on the sides. It’s actually out this month for £149, which might just make it worth a second look: we’ll be scouring one out rest assured.
Good morning! Even if the weather’s more January than August outside, we’ve got something that’ll brighten up your day like a bottle of Dale Winton’s neon slap: all the latest tech news, rounded up in one right place for you. Read on for your techie breakie.
Ah, Elonex. Say what you will about the British firm and its dodgy netbook dabbling, but it turned out a mighty peepable e-reader not too long ago. This won’t help any favour it’s curried though: the newly launched Elonex iGAME FAMILY, a motion control games console cum iPod dock. And yes, alas, it has its own app store.
We’ve unboxed the Elonex eBook already, but now we’ve had a bit of a read of it we thought you might like to too. Is it the Kindle killer – or Kindle substitute here in the UK – we’ve been crying out for and can it unseat the Cool-er in our hearts and on our bookshelves? Read on and see for yourself in our hands-on video!
A UK Kindle may be coming up fast, but the Elonex eBook has hit British Borders bookshops already, and we’ve got one to prove it. It may be lacking the iPod nano-esque colours of the Cool-er and the big name reliability of the Sony Reader, but can the screen – and the books on offer – help it stand out from the crowd? Read on and find out in our hands and eyes-on!
