The Aliens role-playing game has officially been canned by Obsidian Entertainment and Sega. Obsidian, the developers behind Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic II and the upcoming Alpha Protocol, announced the game with Sega in 2006, but announced on Friday “we are no longer working on the game”.
EA has revealed that it has no plans to continue with The Godfather series after disappointing sales of a disappointing sequel. Frank Gibeau, president of the EA Games label, told LA Times that there are no new Godfather titles in the pipeline and that “We’re not going to do another one.”
The Microsoft Xbox 360 is being used to the limits of its powers, according to a senior executive at Electronic Arts in Europe. But while the Xbox 360 is “maxed out”, the Sony PS3 still has “more power” to give, according to Patrick Soderland, Senior VP, EA Games Europe.
The Sims 3′s launch has got off to a controversial start. Electronic Arts, the world’s largest videogames publisher and owner of The Sims series, has commissioned a 1,000 person survey to rewrite The Bible’s Ten Commandments.
The Sims 3, due out on 5 June, has already been leaked onto the Internet. And analysis of its download popularity from peer-to-peer file sharing sites shows that it is suffering worse piracy even than recent EA title Spore.
Blimey, The Sims 3 for iPhone is looking tasty indeed. Despite already being the world’s most successful games franchise, EA Mobile hasn’t held back on the visuals for its iPhone outing; there are no 2D isometric viewpoints here, just full-blown 3D goodness.
