The company just recorded first quarter profits of $221 million (£134 million), up 130 percent compared to the $96 million (£58 million) from the year ago quarter. With Star Wars: The Old Republic breaking the company’s pre-order records and Battlefield 3 pre-orders nearly ten times that of its predecessor, the studio has a serious case of winning.

Amidst the EA Sports press conference at E3 2011, the gaming empire has unveiled SSX: Deadly Descents. We can now confirm with absolutely certainty the game will launch in January of next year. Over on the official SSX Facebook page two characters, Elise and Mac, have been announced with a third character promised by the end of E3.
There were certainly some doubts as to whether Tiger Woods would retain the cover of the EA golfing game after last year’s events. Today, Electronics Arts Inc has confirmed Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 for the Wii, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, and yes Tiger will be on the cover.
Tiger Woods and the forthcoming game, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, had a starring role in this weekend’s South Park Season 14 premiere and it seems EA Sports isn’t happy. Reports claim that EA Sports may even sue the South Park producers for copyright infringement.
Tiger Woods might still be in a heap of trouble with his wife but EA is still a big fan. EA Sports are set to release a line of sports accessories for the Nintendo Wii including golf clubs for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11.
EA is one of the few sponsors to be sticking by Tiger Woods following the scandal over his marriage ‘issues’. And now it’s gone one step further, announcing that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 is still set for release.
EA Sports is set to revive the arcade, Game Boy and Sega CD basketball classic NBA Jam on the Nintendo Wii. According to the sports nuts as ESPN, EA has nabbed the rights to revive the game from the NBA.
