Nintendo DS Oyster card, anyone?

It’s easy to spot a Nintendo DS addict on almost any carriage on the London Underground. What else are you going to do with no phone reception? Read? Ninty clearly isn’t satisfied with the numbers it’s sold so far though, and has kicked off a new marketing campaign, handing out official Nintendo DS Oyster travelcard wallets outside tube stations. We snatched one up a bit too eagerly for an impromptu photo session, and you can see it here in our gallery. All good and well Nintendo, but why isn’t it in 3D?

Is the 3DS pushing DS sales down already? It certainly looks that way. Nintendo’s quarterly profits are out, for the months April to June this year, and it’s not great news for the company. A slip in DS sales has pushed profits down, and could be caused by anticipation around the launch of the 3DS.
