Dev Team haven’t wasted any time bringing us an iOS 4.2 jailbreak. It’s here already, and arrived yesterday, just 24 hours after the iOS 4.2 update arrived.Bad news is that if you’ve got a more recent Apple device such as a new iPod touch or an iPhone 4, this jailbreak is tethered.

Score one to Apple. Leading iPhone jaibreak hackers the Dev Team have decided not to bother trying to make an exploit that will jailbreak iPhones running the 4.0.2 firmware, claiming that they don’t want to be drawn into a game of ‘cat and mouse’ with Apple.
The iPhone 3G S may have been unlocked before it has even officially been released. iPhone arch-hackers the Dev Team have been working on a new hack which they claim should unlock any version of the iPhone, including the new model.
iPhone OS 3.0 is still some months from release, but that hasn’t stopped hackers from trying to jailbreak it, just to be ready. Should you find yourself with a copy of the latest beta release, rest assured it can now be busted wide open.
Sure, iPhone OS 3.0 may look all shiny and new with its copy ‘n’ pasting and its microtransacti-whatsits, but surely its going to put the kibosh on those who like to Jailbreak their phones? Relax, say the Dev Team, it should be business as usual.
The iPod Touch 2G has stood firm against the Jailbreakers, stubbornly resisting all attempts to install non-approved apps on its sleek, second generation self. As of today that is no longer the case – and just in time for those 3rd party app stores, too.
Finally, the iPhone 3G has been unlocked, with those devious types at the Dev-Team responsible once more. The unlocked, dubbed “yellowsn0w” (don’t eat it, download it!), is available now and works with software version 2.2 – in fact, it requires that your iPhone 3G is running it.
