Got a HTC Desire HD? Is it on Vodafone? Good. Time to go get yourself some Gingerbread. The Android 2.3 update for the Desire HD and HTC Incredible S that HTC confirmed was rolling out to unlocked handsets yesterday has just been put out to tender by Vodafone. To get it, just hit up your settings, then check for system software updates under About Phone.

On its forum, Vodafone says that you can expect the new Android keyboard and multiple camera management, though this doesn’t seem to be too likely considering that HTC uses its own keyboard rather than Google’s fantastic Android 2.3 native board, and the HTC Desire HD has no front facing camera. Oh well – grab it anyway so you can stay on the cutting edge, and let us know how you get on!

HTC Desire HD review

The HTC Desire HD. Where to begin? While the phone has only been official for a month, it’s a smartphone that gadget obsessives have been waiting on for much longer. Ever since the 4.3-in HTC HD2 stunned us a year ago by challenging our notions of how big a screen should be, we’ve been waiting for the Taiwanese trendsetter to serve up an equivalent sized handset, packed with Android, instead of the dreadful, crashy Windows Mobile.

The Americans got one in the Summer in the HTC Evo 4G, and now, at long last, British fans are getting one in the HTC Desire HD. Is it the iPhone 4 trumper we’ve been hoping for? Find out with our full HTC Desire HD review.
