Great Boxee news! A free Boxee iPad app will arrive in Q2 of this year. It’ll bring access to your home network context with real-time conversion to iOS-friendly formats and will grab video from your Twitter and Facebook feeds. There’ll also be a selection of featured video content and you’ll be able to grab clips and shows from the Boxee software on the Boxee Box or a PC/Mac to watch later. Boxee also outed a partnership with Viewsonic. The Viewsonic Boxee TV will come packing the same Intel Atom CE4100 processor as the Boxee Box. It’ll be 46in but there’s no news on pricing or availability next.

It claims the Microsoft Apple TV-fighter will come in at under $200 (as usual no clue on UK pricing). The set top box will arrive running a stripped-down version of Windows with a Media Center interface slapped on top. The Microsoft box will take the Google TV approach and integrate standard TV with online content through a shared UI. Microsoft’s keynote at CES is tomorrow night and our crack team in Las Vegas will be bringing you all the details.

Now, it’s at home inside a box of its own, how does it measure up? Read our full Boxee Box review and we’ll spill the beans.
