The Sonos Controller for Android was meant to arrive at the end of March but we’re here and it’s not. Sonos’ VP of Quality has popped up on the firm’s forums to explain why:
“We know you’re anxiously awaiting the Sonos Controller for Android. Unfortunately, testing the app is taking a bit longer than we anticipated. The latest addition to our free controller-line up won’t arrive until April but when it does, it is going to rock.”
That’s encouraging and we hope that April deadline sticks!
We’ve just got an eyeful of Windows Phone 7 being used as a Kinect controller at MWC 2011. The demo showed a block-breaker game, where the object is to jump around batting balls away, being controlled by two people using Windows Phone 7 devices. According to a “trusted source” Microsoft will be releasing a new controller for the Xbox 360 at some point later this year. The Xbox 360 controller is reported to have a d-pad which, when rotated 90 degrees, will raise up about a quarter of an inch. Joystiq is saying that it’s designed for fighting game fans.
