HTC Puccini on track for late September or early October releaseStraight from the horse’s mouth, HTC’s CFO Winston Yung has confirmed to the Chinese publication Liberty Times that the company plans to launch the 10-inch Puccini at the end of the third or early fourth quarter. Since the Chinese fiscal year runs from January 1st until December 31st, expect the slate to land late next month or early October.

Motorola Milestone 3 becomes official, heads to China with CDMA supportRemember that Motorola Milestone 3 drama from earlier this week? Well apparently, the Milestone 3 is real, it’s just not intended to make a GSM debut like the two previous generations. Dubbed the XT883 and destined for a launch in China, the smartphone will launch on China Telecom this year. Officially China Telecom says by the third quarter, though we know all too well how release date promises turn out.

As the rumors suggested, the Motorola Milestone 3 features a dual-core processor and a 4.0-inch qHD resolution display. A five-row QWERTY keyboard, 8-megapixel camera with LED flash 1080p video-capable, front-facing camera, 16GB of internal storage and Android 2.3 Gingerbread round out the specs.

Dell Streak 10 Pro and Windows 7-based tablet confirmed: headed to ChinaAfter first quarter revenues exploded 22 percent in China this year, Dell has decided to take its 10-inch slate to the far East. The once rumored Dell Streak 10 Pro is now confirmed along with an enterprise-friendly Windows 7-based tablet. Both of the tablets are due out “later this summer”.

Before you go scratching your heads over why Dell chose China for its Streak 10 Pro release, consider this. The next one billion people to come onto the Internet will be from emerging countries, with the majority from the so-called BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China).

Report: Foxconn explosion can’t stop the Apple iPad 2Industry insider elite DigiTimes has just published a report which suggests the recent explosion at Foxconn Electronics’ plant in Chengdu, China will not be enough for the competition to gain ground on the iPad 2. Instead, Apple has a chance to make up for the losses by ramping up production 50 percent in the second half of 2011. Additionally, the Foxconn Chengdu plant only shipped 1.6 million iPad 2s through April, less than 30 percent of Apple’s worldwide shipments.
