Google Voice launched a trial in August, giving free calls in the US via Gmail Chat. The original trial period was meant to last until the end of 2010, but now Google has announced that free calls in Gmail Chat will be extended for an extra 12 months.

Sorry Go!Messenger fans; the seven of you just aren’t enough to keep BT’s PSP messaging service going, so on March 31st it’s going to be shut down. Sony told the PlayStation forums that “Although Go!Messenger brought innovative communications features to the PSP community, the service has not developed the base of users that we were hoping for.”
Never ones to keep new features to themselves, Google have updated their Google Talk instant messenger service with the ability to send SMS messages.
Face fans no longer have to type their messages to friends through Gmail and GoogleTalk, they can chinwag through video and voice, as Google adds webcam support to its all-powerful email service.
