Not content with winning the HD format war, Sony’s just unveiled its latest invention: CDs that use Blu-Ray technology to create better sounding music.
While you might think £500 is a lot to splash on a CD player, after all you can get a Blu-Ray deck for less, Arcam’s quality simply doesn’t come any cheaper than the all-new FMJ CD17.
CD players don’t come much stranger (or pricier) than this. Crafted by Chinese company Shanling, it’s a £12k player with four amp valves, gold plated tube legs and an aluminium alloy skin. Oh, and two remotes (no, us neither), and lots and lots of lights. Out now | £12,000 Shanling (via T3)
