The latest bit of Call of Duty: Black Ops DLC is all about zombies. Call of Duty: Black Ops Rezurrection will shamble into view on August 23 with five maps and all new weapons and gear added into the mix. Four of the maps (Nacht der Untoten, Verruckt, Shi No Numa and Der Riese) are remastered versions of the zombie battles included with the Call of Duty: Black Ops special editions. The fifth, Moon, is brand new and takes the undead into space.

Along with the maps, Call of Duty: Black Ops Rezurrection will include an enhanced zombie soundtrack adding three new songs and zombie moon dashboard theme. If you’ve already grabbed the Hardened or Prestige edition of the game you’ll get the updated maps and new content for free. If not, Call of Duty: Black Ops Rezurrection will set you back 1200 MS points. Sadly there’s no news on the PS3 version of the DLC yet.

Since Call of Duty: Black Ops already had JFK kicking zombie ass, Activision is attempting to pull out the stops with the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops DLC.

In the zombie map which will come with Escalation, you’ll get to play as what the developers are calling a Hollywood “dream-team”: Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Robert Englund (Nightmare On Elm Street), Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead) and Danny Trejo (Machete).

The map is set on a remote Siberian island and takes its inspiration from the work of zombie film kingpin, George Romero (who also makes an appearance!). The Call of Duty: Black Ops DLC hits Xbox Live Arcade on May 3. Will you be grabbing it? Answer that question once you’ve watched the zombie-stuffed video after the jump…

Rather appropriately, it was Major Nelson who announced that the Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation DLC will arrive for Xbox Live subscribers on May 3. The pack will include five new maps with four of them supporting multiplayer mayhem. The new maps include “Hotel” (battling on the roof of a Cuban hotel and Casino), “Zoo” (set in Russia), “Stockpile” a tale about WMDs and “Convoy”.
