The Palm Pre probably wont completely replace the first generation iPhone, Palm has admitted. Palm investor Roger McNamee (who owns 39% of the company) said that he expected all the original 1st-gen iPhone owners to switch to the Pre when their contracts expired.

“Not one of those people will still be using an iPhone a month later,” he announced in a Bloomberg interview. Now Palm is backtracking quite a bit.
