Phones 4u lands the BlackBerry Bold 9900 starting 18th AugustThe BlackBerry 7 powered Bold 9900 is locked and loaded, set to debut at Phones 4u from 18th August. As the largest retailer of BlackBerry smartphones per store in Europe, Phones4u has also confirmed it will add the Torch 9860 and Torch 9810 smartphones at a later date.

So how much is a ride on BlackBerry 7 OS with Liquid Graphics going to cost? The Bold 9900 will be available for free on a choice of networks with £35 a month plans. Of course you’ll need to sign a contract to the land the deal, but that’s a small price to pay for RIM’s latest flagship. Read more

Captured this morning, the BlackBerry Curve Apollo (model: 9370) made its unofficial video debut, sporting a HVGA display, 5-megapixel camera and modest 800 MHz processor. BlackBerry has given its ageing Bold, traditionally favoured by corporate warriors,  a much-needed upgrade. And judging by the spec, it appears to have played a blinder…

The Bold 9900 is billed as ‘the thinnest BlackBerry yet’ and totes a plush new aluminium spaceframe. It’s the first to run the BlackBerry 7 OS and the first to enjoy BB’s new ultra-responsive, 2.8-inch, 60fps Liquid Graphics touchscreen – a potential rival to Apple’s mighty Retina display.
