Twitter co-founder Biz Stone has revealed what went on when he and fellow co-founder Evan Williams met Mark Zuckerberg. The trio met at the Facebook offices when Mark Zuckerberg was toying with making an offer to buy Twitter but the talks were hampered by a lack of chemistry.

Interviewed by NPR, Stone agreed with host Peter Sagal when he compared the Facebook CEO to a Vulcan and declared that during the meeting “every joke I said landed like a dead fish on the ground”. Ev Williams and Biz Stone outline the new plan at event in San Francisco and it sounds like the new feature could put an end to bashing out hashtags when you want to join in with talking about a particular event. Apple hasn’t really got much of a presence of Twitter (besides a scattering of iTunes Twitter accounts) so it was surprising to see iOS head honcho Scott Forstall has just signed up. His @forstall account is only following one person (US chatshow host and celebrity ginger Conan O’Brien) but he’s already racked up 16,785 followers despite not having penned a single tweet so far.

It’s not clear why Forstall has joined Twitter. Could he be monitoring the public’s reaction to iPhone 4? Or planning future iOS 4 features? While we wait to see what he and Apple might do with their new Twitter outpost, here’s our five favourite tweeting tech execs…
