BitTorrent pirates have just been given a helping hand by Google. It’s launched a new set of tools to check if your ISP is blocking traffic to your PC. In particular, it’ll sniff out ISPs that block P2P traffic. That means BitTorrent, the filesharing system of choice for pirates.

UPDATE: Yup, it looks like the Myka BitTorrent box is too good to be true. Dan Lovy, the man behind it, has been in touch with TorrentFreak to say that he was unable to raise funds for the P2P player.


The Myka BitTorrent set top box, which downloads P2P content right to your TV, seemed like a great idea to us when we first heard about it a year ago, but it’s remained that way – just an idea – for far too long now… but that could be about to change.

Myka’s just announced it’s going into production at last, but beware: we’re poised to write this one off as vapourware. Find out why after the jump.

A BitTorrent news site has revealed that despite Gears Of War 2, Fable II and Fallout 3 all being available over the peer-to-peer network, Spore was the most downloaded pirated game of 2008.

A man has been arrested with nearly 100 copies of Microsoft’s key pre-Christmas Xbox 360 releases: Fable II and Gears Of War 2. Rodney Gray worked for Technicolor in Memphis, Tennessee – the company prints game packaging and provides warehousing and distribution.
