Microsoft has officially responded to rumours that a journalist was told that using or mentioning Apple products at it’s events was “banned”.
The incident took place at an event held by Samsung and Microsoft Germany to promote Windows 6.5. A journalist was told off for saying his iPhone was the best phone he’d ever used.
Microsoft has now released an official statement making it clear that it’s fine with people talking about and mentioning Apple products at its events.
A Microsoft spokesperson told Ars Technica: “We’ve been unable to confirm the specific exchange, it would not reflect our overall company policy and business practices. Reporters and analysts are free to use whatever technology they wish…and always have been.”
It’s good that Microsoft has cleared the air but we do remember its big boss, Steve Ballmer, being a little less tolerant…
