We first heard about it back in November 2008, but now it’s here and it’s official: Acer has launched the 10-inch version of its Aspire One netbook.
The original Aspire One sported an 8.9-inch screen, but Acer has finally matched its rivals by offering a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 display with LED backlighting.

One of the big draws of the current crop of small light laptops is that they run proper full fat Windows – so all your apps and everything else will work as normal. Quanta has a different view and is putting together a Windows Embedded CE 6 version of the Aspire One.
It’s been available to pre-order for aaaaaages now, but finally it looks like there’s a proper date in sight for the HD version of Acer’s titchy Aspire One. Amazon is listing Monday 18 August as the day it’ll start sending them out.
