Next month the BlackBerry Storm will go head to head with Apple’s iPhone App Store, the Android Marketplace and, potentially, an App Store from Nokia.

RIM has begun accepting BlackBerry Storm apps for vetting ahead of the launch of its own app store, dubbed the App Center, in March. It’s the first step in shoveling software onto the clicky-screened handset, and one that puts more pressure on the likes of Apple, Google and Microsoft.
Owners of the new BlackBerry Storm can look forward to a ton of apps for their handset, as long as they’re willing to wait. RIM just announced it won’t be launching the store until March 2009.
RIM’s not content with launching its own iPhone-batterer today, in the shape of the BlackBerry Storm, it wants to take on Apple’s App Store too, with the launch of its own Application Centre and an SDK to get developers filling their phones with new software!
