It’s still more than six weeks to Christmas, but Modern Warfare 3, which goes on sale today, is looking so likely to outsell all comers that one bookie is already paying out. Paddy Power is already settling bets on Modern Warfare 3 as odds reached an absurdly definitely-happening 1/16, and is only offering 5/6 odds that it will go on to become the best selling video game of all time.

We’re just over three months away from getting out hands on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and while PS3, Xbox 360 and PC players have all been satiated with news, Wii owners have been waiting for word on their version. Now we’ve got it. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on the Wii is being handled by Treyarch.

The news was revealed by Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling on the One of Swords podcast. He bigged up the studio’s previous experience porting its own work on Call of Duty: Black Ops to the Wii as an example of its ability to translate warfare to the world of the Wiimote. No other details on the Call of Duty: Modern Wafare 3 Wii version have been revealed yet.

GoldenEye-007-Reloaded-1

The 2010 reboot of Goldeneye for the Wii proved a worthy mission for the libidinous martini-tipper. The re-imagining of the N64 classic (beloved of gamers, stoners and schoolboy skivers) brought updated storylines and beefed-up multiplayer.

It also bought current 007 Daniel Craig, who – thankfully – appeared sporting a tux rather than his signature, powder-blue banana-hammock.

Now Acti has decided to bring the same game, plus some additions, to the PS3 and Xbox 360. If Goldeneye 007 Reloaded can capture the sheer joy of the original, it’ll be one of 2011’s must-have titles.

To see how this will impact on what games Activision makes, as well as what he thinks of the Nintendo Wii U, and Activision’s plans for games for tablets, read on.

Call of Duty Elite, a premium social networking/stat tracking service for Call of Duty online gaming was unveiled this week. And while Activision has yet to reveal, or even decide, which features will cost you every month, and which will be free, it’s not been met with open arms.

But allow me to play devil’s advocate here for a moment. Why shouldn’t Activision try to wring its cash cow dry of milk? If anything, we owe it more money.
