The first day of CES 2010 threw forth an absolute flurry of fantastic tech but if you’ve missed any of it while you were sleeping, worry not. Read on for today’s CES Catch-up…
Electricpig first predicted it back in October 2009, now Amazon boss Jeff Bezos has confirmed it – the big screen Amazon Kindle DX is hitting the UK. The Kindle DX will ship to the UK from January 19 but you’ll need to use an adaptor for UK plug sockets.
Straight from the weird gadgets wing of CES, Parrot unveiled the Parrot A.R Drone. It’s an iPhone controlled quadricopter that’ll allow you to detect real life targets using an iPhone app interface. It’s not arriving until later in the year but check out the full story for pics of it in action.
CES 2010 has plenty of tantalising TV tech on show and the Boxee Box is one of the coolest bits of kit going. Electricpig got hands-on with the affordable HD media streamer and revealed a QWERTY keyboard concealed in its remote. Again, hit the full story for oodles of pics of the Boxee Box.
We’re bit fans of wireless charging and Powermat has unveiled a simplified version of its cable cutting charger. It’s ditched its gadgets in favour of new rubbery cases for HTC, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Blackberry, LG and Samsung phones. There’s also new Powermats and portable versions to peer at too.
And finally, Asus gave us a sneak peek at its vision of the computing future – the Asus Waveface system. It includes cloud computing via the ultra-sexy Asus Waveface watch and an Asus Waveface Light Laptop with a flexible display that can be flattened out into a tablet.

Parrot A.R. Drone

Wowwee was sadly absent at this year’s CES curtain raising knees up, CES Unveiled. But Parrot more than made up for it with its iPhone-powered A.R. Drone. This flying quadricopter robot had gadget fanatics rapt, with Parrot claiming it’ll open up a new world of augmented reality gaming.
