JVC has pushed out a new Everio camcorder line, with everything from upscaling to dual storage and iPod compatibility shoved in. They’re like hand-held bell and whistle factories!
Heard of 4K before? Essentially it’s an ultra-high end form of hi-def that delivers movies with over four times the detail of 1080p. Yep, that’s right: that’s four times the quality of Blu-ray! Well, RED has just shown off its Red-Ray player, which delivers 4K and any resolution below it, playing video off specially made discs (Blu-ray isn’t compatible) or from a Compact Flash card. Obviously you’ll need a compatible screen or projector too – and there aren’t many of those around – but in any case the unit won’t arrive until early 2009 at the earliest. Pricing and specs haven’t been confirmed yet either, but expect both to be high!
