The LG GD900 Crystal is built to be efficient, sleek and save you time. By including two touch-sensitive surfaces and ultra-smart S-Class software to combine them, it opens up a world of shortcuts and time-saving functions. Read on, and become the most efficient phone-owner on the block!
Gesture your way to reclaimed time
The LG GD900 Crystal doesn’t just understand prods, swipes and pinches, it’ll actually interpret gestures too.
Hold down the cube button just under the screen and you’ll see a screen letting you apply any of its 12 pre-set gestures to up to 9 applications and functions. Just drag the gesture onto the feature you’d like it associated with, and you’re away!
To use gestures once they’re set up, just draw the shape on the keypad from any menu and the phone will fire up the relevant feature or app. Simple, and much quicker than rifling through menus.
Pinch, cancel and circle shortcuts
As well as understanding pre-set gestures applied by you, there are others built into the GD900 Crystal as standard. The first is a multi-touch pinching movement, performed using two fingers. It’ll let you zoom in on photos and web pages, whether it’s done on the screen or on the keypad.
Next there’s a circular movement, drawn on the keypad to zoom in using the camera, or, if you tap the exposure adjustment setting, to tweak the light levels of your photo.
Next head into the music or video player, and tap the volume control on-screen before drawing a circle on the keypad. It’ll give you fine control over the loudness of the GD900 Crystal while watching movies or listening to music.
Lastly, there’s the cancel shortcut. This is a simple letter C drawn on the keypad to return you to the homescreen at any point. Memorise all three and you’ll find yourself zipping through the GD900 Crystal’s menus in record time.
Handwriting in a hurry
Forget tapping keys over and over, or even using an on-screen keyboard. The LG GD900 is so smart it can understand your handwriting. Try it out: Tap into messaging, start to write a new message and press the upward arrow at the bottom of the screen.
Tap the pencil icon and you’ll have switched the LG GD900 Crystal into handwriting mode. Now, simply start writing on the keypad. Letters are drawn on screen, so you can see what you’re doing without looking at your fingertips.
Want to write numbers? Just tap the ‘123’ icon to switch to number mode. Simple, reliable and once you get the hang of it, much quicker than fumbling with keyboards.
Make mincemeat of menus
If you’re holding the LG GD900 Crystal with the keypad slid open, you can use it to navigate through menus too. Swipe left or right to change homescreens, or up and down on the left or right side to scroll through your favourite content.
You can even tap the trackpad to select items on screen, all without obscuring your view while wiping digits across the display!
High-speed hardware
Thee LG GD900 Crystal has tons of quick tricks up its sleeve. The hardware inside is built with speed in mind, from its HSDPA connection, which means it can hop online at speeds equivalent to home broadband, to Bluetooth 2.1 technology, which makes for faster, more reliable wireless connections.
The matching LG HBM-580 headset also packs Bluetooth 2.1 technology, meaning clearer signals and more reliable performance, and it looks the business too!
