The LG Arena has more talents than an X-Factor audition, but one of its less obvious abilities is the amount of customisation underneath that slinky metal shell.
See, the S-Class software inside is full of tweak-able settings. From the way it looks, to how it behaves and, of course, the sounds it makes: the LG Arena is completely customisable. Read on, to find out how.
Make the homescreen your own
Swipe through the LG Arena’s S-Class menus and you’ll see there are spaces on each homescreen to make your mark. Tap and hold the centre button on each blank screen and you’ll be able to add items in a grid or rolodex-style carousel. It’s a feature available on the contacts, multimedia, widget and shortcut screens.
Slap up some new wallpaper
Head into the settings section and choose Display Settings followed by Screen Images. Here you’ll be able to tweak the LG Arena’s wallpaper, but it doesn’t stop there.
Check out the other options and you’ll see you can adjust the phone’s start-up image, shut-down image, the incoming call image and outgoing call image. You can even adjust which homescreen is displayed by default too.
How to download podcasts on the LG Arena
Customise your soundsChanging the LG Arena’s ringtone is simple. Just tap into the main menu, then choose Profiles from the bottom left of the screen, select Normal, tap on Ringtone and choose any sound file you have stored on the phone. You can even choose video files, which will play whenever a call comes in.
You can also apply sounds and videos as ringtones for contacts. Just tap into their name through the address book, scroll across the options under their name and tap “edit”. Here you can add sound or video ringtones.
Reorder your menus
Dive into the main menu and you’ll see there are tons of icons to choose from, but they’re not stuck where they are: you can re-order them.
To move an icon within its row, just tap and hold it, then drag it wherever you like. If you’re always online, try moving Google from the far end of the top row to the beginning. It’ll save you tons of time in the long-run.
Visualise your music
Play a song on the LG Arena and you’ll see a visualiser kicks into action. Did you know you can tweak it? Just hold the phone in portrait orientation, tap the options menu in the top left and choose Visualiser. Here you can choose from five graphical accompaniments for your music.
