Think you know everything about the LG Arena? Think again. The S-Class software inside is simple to use, but also has tons of powerful tricks up its sleeve.

Whether you want more from the LG Arena you already own, or you’re simply looking for a reason to upgrade, take a gander and get the lowdown on all its hidden secrets provided by LG S-Class.

LG Arena plays nice with Macs
Got a Mac? Then you’ll be glad to know the LG Arena supports iSync. In fact, all LG phones running the S-Class software dance to iSync’s tune. That means they’ll automatically update your computer’s address book and calendar when plugged in. iSync even works over Bluetooth, so you’ll never have to worry about plugging in the right cable, and your phone will always be backed up. But that’s not all. iPhoto compatibility is also built in to the LG Arena, letting you sync new photos whenever the phone is plugged in.

Status shortcuts
Need to switch on Wi-Fi? Fiddle with Bluetooth or just set an alarm for the morning? Don’t go trawling through menus. Tap the battery icon, signal meter or volume indicator on any of the LG Arena homescreens. You’ll see a handy menu drop down, giving one-touch access and saving you rifling through menus. This will work on all LG phones running S-Class software too, making otherwise fiddly settings a piece of cake to change.

Stream your sounds
The LG Arena has an FM transmitter built in. It’s easily overlooked, but makes the phone a must-have entertainment machine for long car journeys. To fire it up start a song playing, hit the option button in the top left of the screen and choose FM Transmitter. Next find an empty frequency on your car stereo and tune the LG Arena to it. Hey presto! MP3s in your car without the hassle of wires!

Simple RSS
The LG Arena knows you don’t always have time to browse whole websites to get the latest news, so its S-Classsoftware comes with a handy RSS reader built in. To load it up with news sources just visit your favourite websites. If they offer RSS feeds of their latest content you’ll be able to tap the option button in the top left of the screen and choose ‘Save as RSS’. Next time you fire up the browser, tap into the RSS Reader and you’ll see the latest headlines grabbed from the web automatically.

Memory monster!
The LG Arena has tons of memory, but less well known is its ability to out-store almost every other mobile phone. See, there’s 8GB inside the LG Arena, but it also has a memory card slot that’ll support up to 32GB more. Push it to the limit and the titchy LG Arena will hold a whopping 40GB.

Really quick redialing
You know the feeling: You’ve just hung up, only to remember something you forgot to say. No matter. Hold down the LG Arena’s green call button and it’ll re-dial the last number you called. Dead handy, and much quicker than mooching through your address book.

Secret push e-mail skills
Did you know the LG Arena’s S-Class software supports Microsoft Exchange e-mail? How about push messages? If you’re using it within a Wi-Fi hotspot you’ll get new messages blasted to the phone as soon as the sender clicks, well, send.

Speedy silence
Need to shut up your LG Arena? No problem. There’s no need to go rummaging through menus, since the S-Class software inside has a built-in shortcut. Just give a single, long press on the phone’s volume down button. Before you know it, you’ll have silenced the ringtone to make sure you’re not disturbed.

GPS moneysaver
Sure, you know the LG Arena has GPS inside. However, it’s Assisted GPS, which uses the mobile network to figure our location quickly. If you don’t have a data tariff, that could mean you’re not getting the most from it. Dive into ‘Settings’ and ‘Connectivity’ to turn Assisted GPS into Stand Alone GPS and it’ll figure out your location without using the mobile network.

Office in your pocket
The S-Class software powering the LG Arena doesn’t just play back music and video. It also has a top-notch document viewer, able to make mincemeat of HTML pages, PDF documents, Word files, Excel spreadsheets, Powerpoint presentations and Rich Text files. It’s like having a full-blown office in your pocket!
