Sagem Orga has declared that it’s developed a SIM card that offers built-in A-GPS capabilities. The Paderborn-based company says this breakthrough will enable affordable, accurate positioning technology for those who don’t have GPS-equipped mobile phones.

Customers grabbing Nokia’s new flagship N-series handset, the N96, have reported software faults as well as other problems. This is more than a little reminiscent of the software crashes that marred early batches of the N95, with many customers waiting months to upgrade to its long-awaited successor.

Apple is attempting to resolve the issue of short battery life on the iPhone. Rather than go through the expensive process of developing longer lasting batteries, the fruity computer firm is developing a way of using icon-like status indicators that will work on the iPhone’s display, even when it’s locked and the backlight is turned off.

Five things the LG Prada Phone still can’t do
We’ve gone style mad this week thanks to LG’s new Prada Phone. We wouldn’t normally go near a fashion ‘fone, but the Prada II stands out on the catwalk by actually offering some decent specs inside, as well as a QWERTY keypad. Like most models though, it’s not a jack of all trades (Remember Kate Moss’ singing “career”?), so to give you fair warning, we’ve run through the things it just won’t do.

Lack of Wi-Fi proves sore point for BlackBerry Storm owners
High street stores and customer blogs have been venting their frustration over the lack of Wi-Fi on the BlackBerry Storm, but Vodafone’s official answer to the criticism is that its 3G network is quick enough without Wi-Fi backup.
However, that’s not washing with the Great British public, who are universaly decrying it as a way for Vodafone to force customers to go online and download music through its 3G network.
