The Pioneer CDJ-2000 knocked the socks, or should that be headphones, off the tech press at its London unveiling last night. It’s a DJ controller, but one intent on banishing laptops from the dancefloor.

It’ll hook up to USB sticks or hard drives full of music, as well as connecting to other kit using IP technology. It’ll also play CDs, and automatically records your mixes, so you can review them later on to fine-tune your turntablism. Check out our hands-on photos to see it in action!

Dell has unveiled its smart new Inspiron Mini 12 notebook, a sliver of a machine at just 28mm thick and tipping the scales at a mere 1.24kg. Boasting a bigger screen than the bite-size Dell Mini 9, the freshly unveiled Mini 12 is loaded with a 12.1-inch screen.

Sharing the same design wardrobe as the Mini 9, the Dell Mini 12 looks ultra slick and is only available in polished black. Click through for a full list of specs and photos.

Panasonic demoed a new breed of TV remote control at CES 2009, featuring a bunch of smart talents including a multi-touch interface. Dubbed the Easy Touch remote controller, it’s currently just a prototype, but from what we’ve seen this next-gen RF navigator is definitely one to keep an eye on for all armchair generals.

LG has a demo version of its home 3D TV here at CES 2009, so we slipped on the 3D glasses and gave it a go. Much to our surprise, unlike a number of the other 3D TV showings here at CES, it didn’t leave us with a headache or feeling like we needed an Swedish eyeball massage.

We’ve just seen a mini Robot Einstein, and we’re still a little freaked out by the 18-inch ‘Frubber’ faced android in action. Currently being developed by Hanson Robotics, the diminutive droid genius is far from completion and dubiously promises to do much more than is on show here at CES 2009.

Nokia Locate Sensor has just made its debut at CES 2009. The brainchild of the folk over at the Nokia Research Center, Locate Sensor is a prototype service designed to help ensure you never lose anything. You simply attach a physical wireless location tag (see photo gallery) to stuff such as your keys or wallet, and if you drop anything or it gets nicked from your pocket the accompanying Nokia Locate Sensor app points you in the direction of the item and even tells you how far away it is.
