Behold the HP TouchPad running Android! Last week we heard about TouchDroid, a project by to bring Android to the HP TouchPad, and even saw an Android Froyo HP TouchPad listed on eBay but Cyanogen has delivered the first video of the webOS hardware running Google’s OS.

The HP TouchPad in the video is running the Cyanogenmod 7 of Android Gingerbread 2.3.5 and the port is in very early alpha stages. Cyanogen says its working on a touch bug right now and aims to “create a ‘multi-boot’ solution where the end user will be able to boot into webOS, Cyanogenmod and/or other OSes”. The group says it’ll be “a long while” before it can release the HP TouchPad Android port to the masses but you can see it’s early efforts after the jump…

We could see the latest version of the HTC Sense UI make its official debut tomorrow when HTC shows off a batch of new devices but it appears it’s already been outed. HTC Sense 3.5 has been demoed on video by Chinese-language smartphone site XDA.cn in a five and a half minute video which shows off new animations, a side-mounted dock and a revised unlocking mechanism.

The HTC Sense 3.5 skin is apparently set to make its debut on the HTC Vigor and HTC Bliss with the HTC Kingdom likely to join the party too. The question is: with stock Android looking better and better, is there really any need for overlays anymore? Watch the HTC Sense 3.5 video and let us know what you think of the changes…

There’s still no ETA for iTunes Match in the UK but the the developer beta has just gone live in the US revealing more details on how the iCloud-based music sharing service will work. The big news is that iTunes Match will allow you to both download tracks from your cloud library to a Mac or iOS device and stream them directly.

To kick off iTunes Match will scan your music library and compile a list of tracks from what it finds. Songs already in Apple’s cloud library will be streamed from a master recording at 256kbps.

Music that iTunes Match doesn’t recognise will be uploaded to iCloud based on your local copy. You’ll then be able to access the cloud library of up to 25,000 songs on up to 10 devices (five of which can be computers). Take a look at iTunes Match in action on video after the jump…

Our love for Sonic 4 Episode 1 is well established but we won’t be getting the second installment of the revived franchise this year. Sonic Team’s Takashi Iikuza has told Eurogamer that 2011 is entirely focused on Sonic’s 20th anniversary and Sonic Generations, which is intended as a kind of greatest hits package for the spiny blue mammal. We’ll see Sonic 4 Episode 2 in 2012.

Iikuza says: “It was always the plan. We knew about the anniversary year and Generations was planned way in advance. It was always our plan to release Sonic 4 Episode 2 after Generations.” Pushed on whether we’ll see a Sonic 4 Episode 3, he refused to comment one way or the other. Still there’s always that Sonic CD revival on Xbox Live Arcade to cling on to while we wait for Sonic 4 Episode 2 to spin into view.

HTC is set to unveil its first batch of Windows Phone Mango devices on September 1 alongside the Android-sporting HTC Kingdom. We’ve previously seen images of the HTC Eternity but the second phone, the HTC Omega, was just a name tied to a list of features until now.

PocketNow has got hold of a very convincing looking render of the HTC Omega, showing the Mango device sporting HTC’s familiar two-tone design in grey and white. While the render doesn’t confirm or deny any of the previously rumoured specs, it does show a front-facing camera that wasn’t mentioned before but stacks up with Microsoft’s confirmation earlier this week that Mango will bring new Skype integration.

Click the headline to take a closer look at the HTC Omega render. We reckon it looks like a cross between the HTC Incredible S and the HTC Flyer.
