First, I must apologise as I got a little behind with the sending of my blogs this week. Therefore please refer to my site (which I promise isn’t trying to sell you anything!) for the remainder of my posts: soon to feature the second half of ‘Life is a Rollercoaster’, the long-awaited battery power analysis and a post about it being made of bamboo – is it really such a good idea?
The time has come – to throw all seriousness out the window and use the U6 for some games. First up, and this is purely for experimental reasons – Rollercoaster Tycoon 3!
OK, so what happened…
Watching DVD’s is one of my favourite pastimes. Ever since portable players were introduced, I have thought how great it would be to have films, TV shows and even personal photographs to watch whenever you feel like it.
How cool is this – facial recognition software! Ok, I know that last sentence makes me sound like an excited teenager but quite frankly I feel like an excited teenager after using it!
As a recent creative writing student (OU course I’ve just finished) and with the next, advanced course, rapidly approaching, my main use for this laptop should I get to keep it would be to complete my coursework, which mainly consists of short stories and poetry.
Well I have to say I was dreading setting up the wireless connection for this laptop. When I tried to set up the fingerprint scanner the instructions turned out to be in Chinese. (OK, they weren’t, but they might as well have been considering how confused I was!) And so I was afraid that the instructions for setting up the wireless connection would be just as confusing. Plus the fact that my usual wireless access point is becoming increasingly temperamental meant that it looked like I had quite a task ahead…
Well I’ve had the Bamboo now for 4 days and have been enjoying all the included features. I’ve recently realised MS Office is included as well as the Lightscribe Disc Labelling software which, I believe, allows you to label discs using the laser on your disc burner. The battery is holding up rather well and, at the time of writing, has 22 minutes left on it.
