While the
Sony NEX-7 is incredibly impressive, if you've not got that kind of cash to splash, Sony's outed another addition to the line today. The Sony NEX-5N, a successor to the
Sony NEX-5, features a sensor boost from 14.2MP to 16.1MP and slims the magnesium-alloy body down from 24.2mm thick to just 23.3mm thin. The Sony NEX-5N has a 10fps continuous shooting mode just like its bigger brother, comes with a touch-enabled 3in LCD screen and packs a upgraded BIONZ processor that can ramp the ISO up to 25,600.
The Sony NEX-5N also includes 1080 / 60p AVCHD video capture and the option of adding an XGA OLED electronic viewfinder (priced at $350 in the US) using the accessory port. There are also full manual controls and the ability to edit your compositions with the in-camera Picture Effects mode. The Sony NEX-5N takes E-Mount lenses and is due for release in September. Sony hasn't put a UK price tag on the model yet but we'll update you as soon as it does.
