PS3-slim-console
E3 2012 looks as though it might not be the hardware fest that we’d hoped for. While early rumours hinted at a launch for both the PS4 and Xbox 720, the gossip’s quietened down enough to make both seem unlikely. But maybe we’re looking at it all wrong: maybe we’ve already got the PS4 under our TV sets, and we just need Sony to hand us the keys? Read more

Yesterday Facebook launched Facebook Camera, a standalone app that finally addresses some of the crippling issues in uploading pictures to the world's biggest social network via mobile. It smacks more than a little bit of the company’s recent purchase Instagram, but what’s really interesting are the ratings. Has Facebook actually made a good app? Read more

Sony’s got a track record for doing adverts rather well. Its Bravia ads in particular are pretty awe-inspiring. You know the ones with the bouncing balls and the exploding paint? Yeah. That. Thing is, that doesn’t mean that the company gets it right all the time. But that's not the only purchase Google has made recently, it transpired last night. It has also bought out Mike & Maaike, a design agency that dreamed up both the original G1 Android phone and the Xbox 360. And that second one’s quite exciting. Will this mean the start of a new era for Google and Motorola products? Well, it's got itself a proper design team with a proven track record. “Google has always been interested in hardware. The natural next step is for us to get even more serious and to really go for it,” said Motorola’s new boss Dennis Woodside. With that in mind, here are five things that Mike & Maaike could turn around for both companies with nothing but a bit of crafty design work... Read more

Capcom’s currently suffering at the hands of poor sales of Street Figher X Tekken. The reason? Apparently that it was launched around the same time as several other fighting titles. The solution? Bundle it up with even more. And some music. And a book. And a lot more besides. Is this the best gaming bundle ever assembled? Read more
