We’re now just days away from the official launch of Windows Phone 8, and the smartphone superpowers are readying their wares for launch. Huawei’s got the latest of the bunch, the Ascend W1, but why should you care?
For our money, the two manufacturers making the best-looking, most sultry Windows Phone 8 handsets are HTC and Nokia. Their models represent the top tier of WP8, but who’s looking after the bottom end?
Enter the Ascend W1, which looks like it’s set to offer some low-budget frills in a tidy package that’s not dissimilar to the Android flavoured Ascend P1. The above is the first leaked press shot of the W1, and all sources say that the handset isn’t far from launch.
Nothing official has been inked on the spec sheet just yet, but the rumours point to a 4-inch display residing over a 1.2GHz dual-core processor.
That’ll have just 512MB of RAM and only 4GB of inbuilt storage. Partner that with the reported 5-Meg cam, and we’re definitely looking at a budget handset in the Ascend W1.
Still, it’s all blue, look… So that’s nice.
