Eyeing up that enormous, rather pretty Samsung Galaxy Note 2? If you’ve got saintly patience, maybe you should hang on for Sony’s version? Specs for Sony’s own 5-inch monster, the Sony Odin, have just spilled online. And it sounds awfully good.
The specs come from the same spy who named the Odin in June, way before the codename had leaked from an official Sony source – which should go some way to validating things.
And what’s the word? How does 1080p on a 5-inch display sound? That’s coming courtesy of Japan Display, a joint project that Sony’s part of, which is expected to hit that panel pinnacle before the end of the year.
Galaxy Note 2: Where can Android go from here?
Under that will sit a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor backed up by 2GB of RAM. Which is a beast of a setup.
The Odin’s still officially a ghost, but the rumours point to an early 2013 launch for the device which could knock the Galaxy Note 2 off the top of the unnecessarily large phone podium.
Worth the wait? You’ll have to decide that for yourself.
