Google is about to launch a 32GB version of its Nexus 7 Android tablet, according to a leak from the Carphone Warehouse database. At the moment the tablet is only available in 8GB or 16GB versions, so a 32GB model could well give the much-rumoured iPad Mini a run for its money.

Not only that, a Galaxy Nexus 2 could also be on the cards. What a morning.

The main selling point of the Nexus 7 is that it’s an affordable Android tablet. It starts at just £160 which is amazing value. Amazon took note, and quickly dropped its entry-level Kindle Fire to the same price. So if this 32GB version is genuine, it’ll be interesting to see how Google prices it.

Apple has been rumoured to be working on an iPad Mini for some time now, to compete with these cheaper Android tablets. By launching a 32GB Nexus 7, Google would be spreading its bets and creeping into slightly more expensive territory.

The Galaxy Nexus 2 is still far from official, but an “Invisishield” for the device has popped up on the same Carphone Warehouse database. The handset has been rumoured before, with a supposed sample shot from its camera leaking onto the web.

Of course the “2″ could refer to something entirely different in the database, there’s no way of knowing just yet. But still, coupled with today’s other Android news, it looks like a good time to be a Google fan.

That’s what the carphone warehouse calls the Nexus S. But a 32gb version would be lovely.
