We recently reported that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is gearing up to receive its boost up to the lofty heights of Android 4.1 in October. That’s still very much the case, unless, of course, you live in Poland.

The official update for SIM-only Galaxy S3 handsets has been made available in Poland via Samsung’s KIES software. The update bumps the GS3 up to Jelly Bean, bringing with it Google Now, along with some extra smoothness thanks to Google’s Project Butter.

That’s all baked underneath the crispy TouchWiz casing, to ensure that Samsung users still get a unified experience.

It seems, then, that Sammie’s beginning the Jelly Bean roll out in select regions before letting the whole world have at it. Hey, at least it’s happening, right? If it’s ready for Polish customers, you can bet it won’t be too long before that update arrives on these shores.

The only caveat? As per usual, customers with Galaxy S3 handsets tied to a mobile network will have to wait – each carrier will need to tweak the round peg of an update to make it fit through their particular square holes.
