Yesterday we reported on rumours that the Galaxy S4 would leave the Samsung factory gates incredibly soon – as early as February next year. Those rumours are now being denied by Sammie, but either way, will the next handset boast a ridiculously large amount of inbuilt storage?
Samsung has announced that it has begun mass producing eMMC memory chips for mobile devices with 128GB of inbuilt storage. That’s double the amount you’ll get in the top-tier Apple iPod touch.
Galaxy S4 coming sooner than you think?
On top of that, the new chips boast immensely quick data transfer speeds – you’ll be able to write to and from these monsters at a pace of 140MB/s.
Speedy and capacious then. Samsung’s now in full swing when it comes to mass producing these chips, but the big question is: when will they find their way into the first devices? If the Galaxy S4 lands with such a huge amount of inbuilt storage, it’ll definitely rustle the jimmies of anyone trying to compete, Apple included.
