Now that Apple’s willing and able to go round slapping lawsuits on anyone who makes square devices with flat screens, the race is on to find alternative tablet designs. HTC’s ahead of the pack if leaked images are to be believed, but it might be bold in the wrong kind of way.
Is it wise to make a tablet in the shape of an iMac?
The leaked pics point to an upcoming HTC tablet, possibly in the Flyer range, with a 10-inch display. The design of the thing is all sorts of crazy – instead of equally distributing the bezel all the way round, this tab collects it all on one side, making it a bit lop-sided.
Secrets of the next iMac revealed
That’d be fine, if it weren’t for the fact that HTC has positioned the webcam right in the middle of that monster chin – you know, exactly where your hands would be.
Weirder still, there’s a shot of the tablet sat in a bespoke dock, and it looks uncannily like a mini iMac. So much so that HTC should probably get its lawyers ready for battle. The unnamed tab is likely to make an appearance at IFA this week.
