With leaked iPhone 5 innards, casings and assorted parts seemingly piling up ahead of the handset’s official launch, it seems like a no brainer that someone would try to piece all the right bits into one seamless whole. Question is: does the iPhone 5 jigsaw fit together?

The answer’s a resounding ‘yes’. iPhone repair gurus at iResQ have taken the liberty of fixing the leaked Apple casing to the leaked innards from last week, and the result is a glove-like match-up.

“One of our technicians was even able to screw the assembly into the pre-aligned screw holes inside of the frame. All of the threading and screw holes lined up perfectly with the screw holes in then docking port/headphone jack assembly,” says the site.

So can we just build ourselves a new iPhone? Not just yet. The leaked casing is missing some huge chunks, for a start, but the bigger problem is, well… The rest of the innards. Unless the processor chipset, camera, antenna, display and battery all fall into the hands of the repairmen, we’re left with an incomplete puzzle.

But no matter – at least we now have further proof of the parts’ validity. The iPhone 5 is expected to launch on September 12th, and go on sale shortly thereafter.
