Staring at your screen, waiting for that Galaxy S3 Android update? That feel – we know it. Just yesterday we brought you a video of Jelly Bean running on Samsung’s flagship, and now we have something even better: a date for the OTA rollout.

According to SamMobile, the Jelly Bean update is just around the corner. Referencing a pre-release version of the OS (Android 4.1.1), the site claimed that – instead of trying to install what could kill your phone – you’d be better off waiting “15 days to get the official updates by KIES or OTA.”

If that’s correct, that’d peg the update with an August 31st launch. As per usual, we’re talking about SIM-free, unlocked Galaxy S3 handsets here. UK networks will have to get the Jelly Bean ROM themselves and tinker with it in the time that follows.
