It’s no slouch specs-wise either. But the big question: Will it come running Android Jelly Bean? Or is it going to be stuck with that mouldy old Ice Cream Sandwich?
It’s shown in the leaked picture running Ice Cream Sandwich, but fingers crossed for Jelly Bean. It’s set to be announced at this year’s IFA, which takes place at the end of August and straddles the beginning of September, so we should know more then. Jelly Bean will have been out a couple of months by then, so fingers crossed. Though everyone seems to be dragging their heels on updating their handsets so far.
So the specs. There’s a dual-core Qualcomm Krait CPU inside, along with 1GB of RAM. A 13-megapixel camera sits on the back, and you get 16GB of storage that’s expandable using a microSD card. The screen should be similar to that on the Xperia S: 4.3-inches, with a 720p HD resolution.
Sony’s press conference is scheduled for 29th August, so stay tuned, and we’ll bring you all the news as it’s announced.
