Some lucky Motorola Xoom owners have reported they’ve got the Android Jelly Bean update. So if you’ve got a Xoom, start hitting the update button now, as today could be your lucky day.

Motorola hasn’t officially announced the update yet. These lucky punters getting a taste of Jelly Bean aren’t part of a Motorola feedback program that gives them early access, either. So it’s far from official as yet.

We’ve contacted Motorola for a statement, and will update you as soon as we hear anything.

The Motorola Xoom is on the update list, alongside the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. It’s a bit of a strange one, seeing as the Xoom has been surpassed by the Xoom 2. Google owns Motorola as well, so you’d think it would bump it to the front of the queue.

The Galaxy Nexus has received the over-the-air update, and HTC is working on bringing it to the One X and One S. Asus’ Transformer tablets will also see the update at some point, though there’s no date set.

ZTE has also brought the update to a device running Gingerbread – that’s a jump from Android 2.3 to 4.1. And we’ve seen it running, albeit with bugs, on an HTC HD2. So it’s a mystery what’s stopping other devices seeing the update.

i’ll believe it when i see it, i’ve got a UK wifi xoom and still haven’t had ICS.

Then root your device, install the US ROMs and it’ll update with all the other US Xooms. I did this as I got fed up of waiting for ICS. The Jelly Bean update should hit my tablet soon.
