The Oscar-winning director is the latest star to appear in an advert for Apple’s Siri personal assistant. The ad sees him in the back of a taxi, firing a barrage of questions at Siri.
The one we can’t believe he missed: You talkin’ to me?
Scorsese uses Siri to check his calendar, reschedule an appointment, see where a friend is, and to check the local traffic. If he had a device running Android Jelly Bean he’d have Google Now, which would be able to do all this without being prompted. Google Now learns your routine, and supplies you with info as you need it. So head out on your commute, and it’ll update you on the traffic without you lifting a finger.
Scorsese is just the latest big name to advertise Siri. Previously, Samuel L. Jackson, Zooey Deschanel and John Malkovich have lined up to tout Siri’s wares.
A New York man brought a lawsuit against Apple over its Siri ads, accusing them of being ‘misleading and deceptive.’
Here’s the Scorsese ad, followed by the others. Let us know what you reckon in the comments. And do you think they give an accurate representation of the voice-activated personal assistant?
