Bad luck if you’ve got your eye on a 16GB Nexus 7 – Google has pulled it from the Google Play online store. That’s right, the higher capacity version is proving too popular, and Google is struggling to meet demand.

Head to Google Play and you’ll see the 16GB Nexus 7 is listed as coming soon. You can sign up to be emailed when it’s back in stock. The 8GB, however, is listed as in stock, with delivery taking between three and five business days.

The tablet was due to launch on Thursday, and many have received their pre-orders already. Google sent out a note last week detailing when it expected pre-orders to arrive. The 8GB should have shipped on Friday, so if it hasn’t arrived yet, expect a knock from the postie any second. If you pre-ordered your 16GB version before June 30th, it should’ve shipped on Friday as well. If you put in your order after that, it’ll start mending its merry way to your house sometime this week.

And if you’ve only just decided you want a 16GB Nexus 7, then you’ll have to wait until they reappear on the Play store. There’s no word when that’ll be, but here’s hoping it’s not too long.

Some 16GB devices arrived as early as the beginning of last week though, so there’s no hard and fast rule.

Have you got yours yet? Let us know in the comments if so, or if you’re still waiting.
