HTC Phones are generally known for their robustness, I’ve never had a reason to switch to Samsung so can’t comment on their build quality. I also like the live weather wallpaper and weather lock screen on the HTC phones.

Yeah, I told that to my wife when she wanted a new phone. She returned 4 defective Samsung phones in less than 6 months before Verizon allowed us to Purchase an HTC (at the 2 year discount rate). Samsung may be above average overall, but our experience with them was atrocious.

Apple is great for those not particularly tech savvy who want a pretty device that is easy to use. Their technology is designed with ease of use and eye candy in mind. This can be tracked back to the days of the Apple Macintosh.
If you prefer technology you can get under the hood of, and personalise to meet your requirements, Android and Linux beat Apple all day long.
It is down to personal taste and preference.

Agreed. These are some examples of why I have stuck with Android phones over the years. The downside is that some of the Android-based phones have horrible hardware compared to the Apple, but they have gotten much better in the last couple of years. As a fellow OnLive user, having the ability to play some of its games on my phone via touch controls is very nice. All of this sounds like the old MS vs. Apple debate from the beginning of PCs. Do you want Apple controlled everything with limited options but slightly more stability, or free-market everyone can play Android, with the risk of a few more glitches at times? I like the freedom of choice that Android provides.

Couldn’t agree more! one of the reasons i have been an android fan from day one is the amount of freedom it offers! Apple make lovely hardware and have very intuitive software but have far too many restrictions! Add to that the fact that android seems to have matured into a far more appealing piece of software over the past few years and i see little point to look anywhere else for my phone needs.
