Fancy yourself as a bit of an amateur photographer, but don’t want to carry a separate camera around all the time? You’re probably very keen on the Nokia 808 PureView, then. The good news is, Nok’s just confirmed that its super camphone is up for pre-order from today. Time to count out your cash?

Nokia’s 808 PureView is a cut above the rest of smartphone camera kind. It’s unique sensor packs in 41-Megapixels underneath a Carl Zeiss lens, resulting in images that match or best most compacts. Elsewhere, there’s a 4-inch AMOLED Clearblack display sitting atop a 1.3 GHz ARM 11 and 16GB of (expandable) storage.

That’s all running on Nokia’s Symbian Belle OS, which has been fitted out with a top-notch camera suite. Price to you? The SIM-free Nokia 808 PureView has gone up for pre-order on Amazon for two pence shy of £500.
