Olympus’ new tough camera is hard enough to withstand a baby elephant sitting on it. Not only that, it’s ideal for underwater snaps (elephants can swim, right?), shockproof and freezeproof. Make no mistake, this is one serious snapper.
Those hardcore specs in full: The TG-1 is waterproof to 12m, shockproof to a height of 2m, freezeproof to -10 Celsius, and crushproof to a force of 100kg, which is about the weight of a baby elephant. Basically, if you’re shooting out in the wild, this thing is more than up to the task.
There’s also a case coming soon that’ll let you take it down to a depth of 45m and shoot away like it’s no big deal. And a flash attachment will light up those fish so you can see what you’re snapping.
A 12-megapixel sensor should provide detailed pics, and the high sensitivity CMOS sensor means it’ll be great for low light conditions. Such as the underside of a baby elephant.
It records movies in 1080p HD, and there are three new shooting modes to give you more options: Low Light, Super Sports, and Super Macro for getting up close and personal.
It’ll be on sale mid-June for £359.99. The Fisheye Lens will set you back £129.99, the same for the Tele Converter Lens, and the Converter adapter will be an extra £19.99.
