Remember the ‘I’m a Mac, I’m a PC’ ads from a few years ago that had Justin Long doing his best to convince the world that he was an aspirational figure? Reaction was mixed at best, and Apple wisely moved away from celebrity endorsements for a while. But now enough time’s passed for us to be impressed when someone with a recognisable face appears on our living room glow-boxes, so it’s at it again. And now Apple’s Siri’s got some A-List friends.

The two new iPhone 4S ads, which have begun airing in the US, feature long-time swear-master Samuel L. Jackson and kookier-than-thou Katy Perry lookalike Zooey Deschanel. And what has Apple done with its A-List access? Something aspirational no doubt? Nope.

iPhone 4S: The cheapest computer you can buy?

There’s nothing here that us regular humans won’t be using Siri for. Samuel L’s had it with not knowing the mother****ing recipe for his mother****ing dinner, while Zooey just wants to check the weather and dance around her room. It’s worth noting that Android, and Android phone manufacturers, have yet to actively go after celebrities for their campaigns, so it’s interesting to see Apple recruiting now.

Anyway, enough talk. Watch the ads below and let us know what you think:
